Journey from Wellington to Weta Workshop and back again in our dedicated shuttle.
With daily tours departing from Wakefield Street in the city centre, we invite you to sit back and enjoy stunning harbour views, insider stories of film and creativity and even spot the iconic Wellywood sign on the way to our creative home in Miramar.
Weta Workshop has been making cool stuff for film and TV since 1987. Our crew has brought to life beloved characters and epic special effects for iconic blockbusters like The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Avatar and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Step into Weta Workshop Experiences and explore a world of creativity, physical effects and movie magic on a guided tour through our creative home base.
You'll learn about the making of props, creatures and costumes created for your favorite films. Get hands-on with unique pieces from our many departments, catch our artists at work and discover how we have grown into the award-winning workshop you see today.

Our guided transfers depart from 145 Wakefield street, Wellington, in the city centre.

Instructions
- On disembarking your ship please take the earliest shuttle provided by the port in to the city. Your cruise ship may charge a fee for this service. The shuttles usually drop you in Brandon Street and from there it is a 15 minute walk to the Wellington I-Site which is opposite the Amora Hotel [now closed], on Wakefield Street, where the Weta bus departs from.
- You should check in at the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to the start time.

- Children 5 and under are free, but must be included as "infant" when booking.

Where do we join the tour?
You will need to take the ships shuttles into the city as you can not walk from the port. The shuttles usually drop you in Brandon Street and then it is a 15 minute walk to 145 Wakefield Street, where the WETA coach departs from.
